El actor explica que el trabajo no solo pasa por aprender las coreografías, sino por desarrollar una resistencia física extraordinaria.
“Me preparé tanto física como mentalmente. Trabajé para desarrollar la resistencia necesaria para cantar y bailar a ese nivel cada noche, prestando mucha atención a la precisión y calidad de los movimientos de Michael.”
Pero también hubo un intenso trabajo emocional.
“Dedico mucho tiempo a conocer su proceso creativo y su búsqueda permanente de la excelencia. Comprender esa dedicación me ayudó a afrontar cada ensayo y cada función con el mismo compromiso de dar siempre lo mejor.”
La escena que más disfruta
Entre todos los grandes éxitos del espectáculo, hay un momento muy especial para Samuels.
Su elección sorprende.
No es una de las grandes coreografías, sino una canción mucho más íntima.
“Human Nature es uno de mis momentos favoritos. Es un hermoso recordatorio de que detrás de uno de los artistas más grandes de la historia había un ser humano con esperanzas, preguntas y vulnerabilidades.”
Para el actor, esa escena permite que el público conecte con el lado más humano del cantante.
“Ese momento hace que la audiencia desacelere por un instante y pueda conocer a Michael desde otro lugar antes de que el espectáculo vuelva a desplegar toda su energía.”
Lo que más lo sorprendió de Michael Jackson
Durante la preparación descubrió una faceta poco conocida del artista.
“Lo que más me sorprendió fue el nivel de participación que tenía en absolutamente todos los aspectos de su trabajo.”
Según explica, Michael Jackson no era únicamente un extraordinario cantante y bailarín.
“Pensaba constantemente en la historia, en la coreografía, en la música y en cada detalle creativo. Su búsqueda permanente de la excelencia es algo que admiro profundamente y que también inspira mi propia carrera.”

“The greatest challenge is finding the balance between honoring who Michael was and bringing truth to the character as an actor.”

“People know every movement, every vocal inflection, and every detail of his performance style. There is a tremendous responsibility to be authentic. At the same time, the show isn’t about imitation—it’s about telling the story of an artist whose passion, discipline, and creativity changed music forever.”
Preparing physically and emotionally

“Preparation has been both physical and mental. I’ve worked to build the stamina needed to sing and dance at such a high level night after night while paying close attention to Michael’s movement quality and precision.”

“I’ve also spent time learning about his creative process and his relentless pursuit of excellence. Understanding his dedication has helped me approach every rehearsal and performance with the same commitment to giving my very best.”
His favorite moment in the show
Among all the spectacular musical numbers, one scene stands out as Samuels’ personal favorite.
Surprisingly, it isn’t one of the biggest dance sequences.
Instead, it is one of the show’s most intimate moments.
“One of my favorite moments is ‘Human Nature.’ It’s a beautiful reminder that behind one of the greatest entertainers in history was a human being with hopes, questions, and vulnerability.”
For Samuels, that scene allows audiences to connect with Michael on a much deeper level.
“I love how that moment allows the audience to slow down and connect with Michael on a more personal level before the energy of the show builds again.”
What surprised him most about Michael Jackson
During his preparation, Samuels discovered a side of Michael Jackson that impressed him deeply.
“What surprised me most was how deeply involved he was in every aspect of his artistry.”
He explains that Michael was much more than an extraordinary singer and dancer.
“He wasn’t simply an incredible performer—he was constantly thinking about storytelling, choreography, music, and every creative detail. His commitment to excellence is something I greatly admire and has inspired me in my own career.”
